Why Study Pharmacy?
There is an ever-increasing need for well-qualified professionals in pharmacy. The Math/Science degree program with a concentration in pharmacy provides students with a strong foundation in how the natural world works. Students will complete courses in anatomy and physiology, microbiology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. In the courses students apply mathematical models and the scientific method to solve concrete problems.

Pharmacists compound and dispense medication, following prescriptions issued by physicians, dentists or other authorized medical practitioners. They answer questions and provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effect, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.

Further Educational Opportunities
This program is designed as an academic starting point for people interested in pharmacy. Upon completion of the program students will transfer to a four-year college or university prior to graduate studies at the University of Buffalo, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, or other accredited school.
