Director of External Programs

The Opportunity

Columbia-Greene Community College is seeking a full-time Director of External Programs who will report to the Dean of Enrollment Management. The Director of External Programs develops and manages concurrent and dual enrollment programs, as well as external programs. The Director oversees the College in the High School Program, the Higher Education in Prison Program, as well as other partnership-led enrollment and program initiatives. The Director is the College’s primary contact for International Students and Community Partners who have special arrangements with the Institution for programs, courses, and college experiences.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and revise policy, standard operating procedures, and MOUs for all external programs.
  • Work with the College’s designated policy and compliance officer to ensure all external programs adhere to relevant State and Federal regulations.
  • Work closely with the Office of Academic Affairs and Faculty on program development, course scheduling, and instructor support across all external programs.
  • Act as primary liaison to high schools, correctional facilities, and other partner sites to ensure the smooth operation of external programs. This requires working closely with several stakeholders such as high school superintendents, principals, guidance counselors, parents, students, Department of Corrections officials, incarcerated individuals, and other key contacts in partner agencies.
  • Develop strategies for increasing and sustaining enrollment in external programs.
  • Work with the College’s Accreditation Liaison Officer to ensure all external programs meet the standards of accreditation and are appropriately registered.
  • Act as the College’s primary liaison to third-party partners, such as Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison and site coordinators.
  • Develop and coordinate events that support faculty and professional staff in external programs, such as orientations, training, and development.
  • Work closely with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to ensure external programs are appropriately assessed, developing plans for increasing program effectiveness.
  • Support the Office of Enrollment Management in developing the institution’s Enrollment Management Strategy, so that the enrollment goals of external programs contribute to the overall growth and sustainability of the institution.
  • Support the Office of Enrollment Management by attending enrollment-related events.
  • Monitor the progress of students within external programs, as appropriate, to ensure institutional outcomes for external programs are being met.
  • Work within partner sites (especially correctional facilities), as needed, to complete enrollment-related documentation. Ensure the timely and effective registration of all external program students.
  • Work with the Dean of Enrollment Management to increase and support enrollment from international students.
  • Act as the College’s Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for Homeland Security.
  • Lead on appropriate grant and funding opportunities related to growth and support for external programs as assigned by the Dean.
  • Utilize Banner, DegreeWorks, OnBase, and other campus systems to carry out necessary functions related to the administration of external programs.
  • Supervise staff within the department, as assigned.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate field such as higher education administration, school administration, student affairs, or business.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience in managing programs.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education or a similar field.

Salary and Benefits Information

Annual 12-month salary range $65-$75K, dependent on qualifications and experience. Assistant Director of Marketing

The Opportunity

Columbia-Greene Community College seeks a full-time Assistant Director of Marketing to provide support for the institution’s marketing, communications, public and community relations initiatives. The Assistant Director will be the primary liaison between the marketing department and the admissions team, leading in the content design and delivery of the College’s CRM. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Assistant Director will lead and implement various strategies to support Columbia-Greene’s enrollment initiatives and build awareness of the College, its brand, programs, and overall role in the community.  Key Responsibilities

  • Deputize for the Director of Marketing, as needed;
  • Assist the Director in maintaining and enhancing the institution’s brand image and voice across all marketing channels;
  • Assist the Director in planning, developing, and executing marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, print, social media, etc.);
  • Create and manage social media design and coverage;
  • Oversee the development, trafficking, and tracking of marketing materials between the designer and departments;
  • Analyze data to inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities for growth;
  • Draft web and other copy for review using AI, ChatGPT, Grammarly and other programs and emerging technologies;
  • Build and revise web pages to maximize the customer experience;
  • Help segment target audiences and tailor messaging to specific demographics using data analysis and research into effective marketing techniques for different populations;
  • Monitor and make daily updates to the website and social media channels;
  • Work with divisions and departments to develop fresh stories regarding students, faculty, staff, and alumni, providing advice and guidance to C-GCC personnel on story generation;
  • Provide public relations support for all events hosted by various departments (which will require hours outside of normal hours of operation);
  • Coordinate with external vendors, agencies, or partners for outsourced marketing activities;
  • Work with the enrollment management team in managing content, data, and tactics within the College’s CRM;
  • Manage internal communications;
  • Supervision of interns and student workers in the marketing department.

 Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, or a related field, plus a minimum of three years professional experience. Experience in an academic environment is a plus.
  • Superior copy writing, editing, and proof-reading skills.
  • Experience using enrollment management and communication-based CRMs e.g. Liaison, Slate, Constant Contact.
  • Experience using emerging technologies for enrollment marketing purposes e.g. AI platforms.
  • Solid photographic and videographic skills.
  • An in-depth understanding of media and social media management platforms.
  • Knowledge of and experience with common Content Management Systems such as WordPress.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format to a variety of audiences.

 Ideal Candidate Criteria

  • Has experience in higher education marketing and communications work, with a thorough understanding of the role marketing plays in enrollment management.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deputize for the director of marketing, leading projects, and enrollment-related initiatives without supervision.
  • Exhibits outstanding creative skills with a flair for dynamic and audience-centric writing across a variety of marketing channels and media as demonstrated in a portfolio of work.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve desired results.

  • Has familiarity with the Chicago Manual Style.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Event Planning and Management

  • Responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of programs that promote engagement, leadership, and development.
  • Provide leadership to students and faculty by planning, organizing, and executing various co­ curricular activities, and frequently serves as the business officer for these activities assisting in such areas as budget preparation and arrangements to use various on and off-campus facilities.
  • Assist with the coordination of the annual commencement ceremony.
  • Responsible for major programs such as New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, and end­ of-semester programming.
  • Responsible for the supervision of student employees and an office coordinator.

Leadership Development and Mentorship

  • Serve as the administrative representative and advisor to the Student Senate, including maintaining communication with administration, scheduling and supervising meetings, and guiding the development of skills in student government.
  • Serve as a resource to the C-GCC’s Student Trustee, student clubs, and organizations.
  • Supervise professional, clerical, and support staff, as well as student work-study aides.
  • Coordinates student leadership opportunities, including campus and peer-mentorship programs.
  • Develop and facilitate leadership development workshops for the student body.

Budget and Resource Management

  • Manage budgets and authorize appropriate expenditures.
  • Approve uses of mandatory student activities fee.
  • Management of the Student Lounge space and its services.
  • Develop and execute holistic wellness offerings and programs and oversight of the Wellness Lounge.

Collaboration and Campus Engagement

  • Understand the benefits diversity, equity, and inclusion brings to a learning and working environment.

Senior Research Analyst


Position Summary

The Senior Research Analyst supports Columbia-Greene’s data-informed decision-making process by conducting advanced research, analysis, and reporting. This role involves compiling and analyzing data related to enrollment, student outcomes, program effectiveness, and other key institutional metrics. The Senior Research Analyst plays a key role in generating insights that inform strategic planning, accreditation processes, and policy development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Conduct data validation and ensure data integrity in all reporting.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data related to various institutional priorities (e.g., enrollment trends, retention, graduation rates, etc.).
  • Produce regular reports and data visualizations for internal and external stakeholders utilizing dashboards and other visual data tools to present complex data in accessible formats.
  • Collect and analyze data to satisfy federal, state, and local reporting requirements (e.g., IPEDS, NYSED, SUNY).
  • Support data collection and reporting requirements for institutional accreditation processes.

Survey Design and Administration

  • Design, administer, and analyze surveys for students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
  • Use survey results to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
  • Prepare summaries and reports based on survey findings.

Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness

  • Provide support for institutional strategic planning by analyzing historical trends and forecasting future outcomes.
  • Assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor institutional effectiveness.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies to compare institutional performance with peer institutions.
  • Support initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by analyzing relevant data and providing insights to inform DEI programming.

Collaboration and Consultation

  • Collaborate with various departments to understand data needs and provide consultation on data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Work closely with IT and other campus departments to optimize data systems and processes for efficient reporting.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to special projects as assigned by senior leadership.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with survey software (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).
  • Strong knowledge of higher education data sets (e.g., IPEDS, NYSED, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g., statistics, economics, education, social sciences, or related discipline).

  • Familiarity with higher education policies and Middle States accreditation standards.

Nursing Instructor

The Health Professions Division of Columbia-Greene Community College is seeking a part-time Instructor with a master’s degree (minimum) in Nursing for the Spring 2025 semester.  Instructional duties may include lectures, lab, and teaching in the clinical area.  Teaching at off-campus clinical agencies is part of this role.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active and unencumbered NYS RN License (valid as of the date of hire).
  • Master’s degree in nursing, doctorate advantageous.
  • Experience providing instruction, including through clinical simulation, is an advantage.
  • Hospital-based clinical experience in medical-surgical and critical-care nursing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong attention to detail; and computer skills.
